Who do you work with?
I provide individual CBT-I therapy for adults 18 years and older. EMDR may be added if needed after CBT-I is completed. I accept teens (ages 16 and older) on a case-by-case basis.
Do you provide face-to-face or telehealth services?
Both. I provide face-to-face services once a week (on Wednesdays) in Sugar Land, TX. Telehealth services are available to clients in Texas, Florida, and Vermont.
Are you going to teach me sleep hygiene? Is this about learning meditation and relaxation techniques? That did not help me.
Sleep hygiene techniques are important but seldom work for people with insomnia. Learning meditation and relaxation techniques can assist you with decreasing your anxiety but may not be enough if you have insomnia.
Are you going to get me off of my insomnia medications?
I am not a medical provider, so I cannot manage your sleep medications. Please get in touch with your prescriber about decreasing or getting off medications for sleep. However, I can work with you while you are getting off medications in collaboration with your prescriber. Research shows that participating in CBT-I while you are getting off medications has the highest chance of success.
